The popular boy ? Help!?

Alright. Well i KIND OF like this kid in my cl. The only thing is, he is one of the most popular guys in our grade. Sometimes it seems like he likes me though. Like, when i am talking to my friends in homeroom, he will sometimes but in and be like "nah uh!" in a sarcastic tone. I talk to him once in a while. Also, when i was at a dance one time, he walked by and was like "heeeeeyyyy" and then tried to smack my . I am sooo confused! Please help!
