What can I give for teething.?

I give him a cool teething ring. But now his tooth is popping thru the gums and its sharp lol. My first baby and he usually sleeps thru all the night and he went t sleep 11pm and woke up 3am bugging. Is there anything I can give him to calm him down? He also has a funny nose. Maybe baby orgel but I think I heard it can num his throat. Help please. What did you give your baby(s)?
