Discover comets {5 stars}?

My friend David Levy has discovered many comets. Initially, he discovered them visually by sweeping the sky with a wide field telescope. It took thousands of hours before he found one. Although many of his comet discoveries were visual, he also discovered many photographically in partnership with Eugene and Carlolyn Shoemaker. He's discovered 23 in all.
