I'm on the brink of giving up acting?

Today casting directors start calling people for auditions on this certain show that I wanted to try out for.With all the negativity on here about how people a lot have no chance,I'm seriously freaking out.I feel so ridiculous for even trying,and spending hundreds of dollars on head shots and such.I need reurance.The last thing I need is a rude answer.
